This is a photo of my Aunti Hazel's dress shop in Redlands, dated 1929. I wish I could have known her back then...to be a part of the weekend parties that she hosted, observe the way she dressed and just be a part of the fun. I used to try on her shoes, which were stored in individual boxes in her closet. They were made from gorgeous fabrics - not leather. Satin, raw silk...in wild colors like fuscia and puce.
