My mother told me tonight that my grandfather used to shave his armpits. This was back in the 30s and she distinctly remembers watching him do it. What, was this B.D.? (Before Deodorant?)

My husband has that soft, blond, not-too-long kind of body hair, just the way I like it. I shudder to think what he would look like with shaved anything.

This whole concept makes me think of an old friend who used to be very proud of his hairless chest. His favorite saying?

"You can't grow grass on a playground."
